YVD for Beginners! - By CaptainHollyShort

All the stuff you need to know to duel on YVD.

Dueling can be a confusing process on YVD. This page will give you every dueling command in a simple form that anyone can understand. You'll never be confused again!

The YVD Menu Bar
If you're familiar with the Windows OS, (and if you aren't I can't help you much; I've never used a Mac!) then I know you can see the Menu Bar right under the Title Bar. The Menu Bar has 5 commands; File, Game, Chat, Gameplay, and More. The following section explains each one in detail.

File-
Soft Reset: Resets the game for the second or third duel in a match, or if you want to reset without disconnecting your opponent. You can only change cards in your deck and side deck using this command.
Reset Game: Resets the game and disconnects you from your opponent. You can also change your deck and side deck, or load a new deck. YVD remains open, so you can duel again right away.
Settings: Changes the username displayed when dueling, your wallpaper, skins, and language. You can also choose the chat transparancy and whether to display timestamps on your chat window.
Verify Username: Verifies your username so users know that you are really who you say you are. You must be verified in order to participate in ladder duels.
Deck: Change your deck in any way if not connected to an opponent.
Quit: Displays a dialog box asking you if you really want to quit YVD.

Game-
Manual Connect: If you know a user's IP and are connecting via Normal or Relay duel, you go here. You can also use the connect button on the left side of the screen.
Listen: Listen to an opponent who is connecting to you via Normal or Relay duel. You can also use the listen button on the left side of the screen.

The chat menu contains 9 preset text commands you can click to automatically send to your opponent. You can edit these commands by selecting "Edit Macros".
