When I click duel, YVD shuts down.
Push CTRL+ALT+DELETE or right click the taskbar and select Task Manager. If Yugioh Virtual Desktop appears in applications, click End Task. Otherwise, see if Yugioh Virtual Desktop is running in processes. If it is, click End Process. If nothing else works, reboot the computer.
OMFG!!! I can't host.
This is a very common problem, unfortunately. If you use any routers, disconnect them. If you have any firewalls, you must turn them off. DO NOT TURN OFF ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE! This has nothing to do with YVD.
It says I am permanently banned/glined from *.scrollrack.com!!!
Two reasons this may have happened:
1. Your local scrollrack.com server (XeroCreative's server is scrollrack, and the * is a wildcard, because there are many such as evolution and pie-conspiracy) has banned/G:Lined/K:Lined/Z:Lined you because you were causing a lot of trouble repeatedly on their public chatrooms. OR:
2. Your IP matches the range of an AOL IP Address; because of one unscrupulous (bad) user, scrollrack.com had to G:Line ALL AOL addresses. If there is an e-mail in your Gline message and it says you are banned from AOL, contact the e-mail. You could also use another computer without AOL or Netscape and sign on to an IRC client to have you ban removed manually by an IRC Op, but why not just use that computer instead (unless you would go out of your way to do so)?
I can't join #yvd and/or #xct!
Certain channels have modes set on them. A mode is simply a setting on a channel. If you can't join #yvd, you may have been banned (or set to +b), or they are using the mode +R and your nick is not registered. If you cannot join #xct, a tournement may be in progress, or here is no tournament going on. Either way, I believe the mode is set +i (invite only) and most likely to prevent people from being invited +K (no knocking on the channel to ask for invites).
Nick Registration
When you start your IRC client, it may give you a message "Your Nick Isn't Registered.", or you may need a registered nick to join a channel, or some other function that requires you to register. Simply change your nick by using "/nick desired nickname" here to the one you want anbd type /ns register (make a password up) (Your e-mail) and send it. Note that the commands are typed in the chat box and do not use the () or "" marks; otherwise, they will be wrong.
I can't use colors/get popup menus/use away logs etc.
You can get colors in n00b-irc by typing CTRL+K and a number. If you use mIRC you push CTRL+K and click a color in the dialog that pops up. Popup Menus and Away Logs will require a more advanced IRC client (such as mIRC), and the latter requires scripting knowledge.
The channels are empty, my nick/channels are unregistered, and there are hardly any Chan Ops.
This is the result of a netsplit, when a server branches off from the main server, and anyone on it (and services such as ChanServ and NickServ) will go down for a while.
